Your membership/donation contribution supports the restoration and operation of vintage railway equipment for the education and entertainment of the public. The Society was formed in 1986 to return steam locomotive ETR No. 9 to active service, one of the last steam locomotives in North America.

As you might know, the Society operates the Waterloo Central railway with vintage railcars pulled by a 1950 diesel. The WCR is operated entirely by volunteers and has carried over 14,000 people and help them experience Canada’s rail heritage. Running a railway is an expensive business and while ticket sales cover costs most of the operating expense, we rely on memberships and donations for the acquisition and restoration of locomotives and equipment.
